What’s New in Intellectual Property in China?

November 10, 2014 @ 8:30 am - 10:30 am

“As the world’s fastest growing consumer market, China continues to be a priority country for companies looking for growth. Yet hand in hand with the opportunities the China market offers comes a uniquely complicated and challenging environment for the protection and enforcement of intellectual property.

This year alone has seen numerous changes to the IP landscape in China, including a completely revised Trademark Law, proposed changes to the Copyright Law and Patent Law, ground-breaking decisions in the trade secrets space, a series of high-profile anti-monopoly cases and investigations involving major multinationals, and ever more IP litigations. Companies that fail to adapt in this dramatically changing environment may impact their ability to operate in China.

In this seminar, professionals from DLA Piper’s Trademark, Copyright and Media team will cover some of the key changes and landmark cases which have taken place in China this year, including an update on the new Trademark Law and practical advice on how companies should prepare themselves and strategize in this ever-changing opportunistic market.”
