Patents for Humanity

August 14, 2014 @ 11:30 am - 2:00 pm

“As part of the Obama administration’s initiative to encourage game-changing innovations to solve long-standing development challenges throughout the world, the USPTO launched the Patents for Humanity program in 2012–2013. In its inaugural year, the USPTO recognized sixteen companies, institutions and individuals for their patents in the diverse areas of Medical, Food & Nutrition, Clean Technology and Information Technology.

For 2014, the Patents for Humanity program has been renewed. Entrepreneurs, innovators and companies who deploy patented technologies to address global challenges will be selected in five categories that reflect the President’s development agenda: medicine, nutrition, sanitation, household energy and living standards.”
